After I finished the book and before I started with the film I drew
a big panorama.

I already used a rough sketch when I worked on the book.

It gave me an idea about the look of the village: where everybody lives, what all the houses and yards look like, where the church is …

The panorama drawing was essential for the film making process.
It allowed me to have a better knowledge of all the locations
used in the film.
